My name is Chris Dewhirst,

I am a new resource teacher here at NDPA.
I was born in NYC. I moved around the east coast growing up, following my father a commander in the U.S. Coast Guard. I attended school in, northern Virginia, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island. I graduated from Barrington High school in 2001.

Throughout High school I was active in Boy scouts of America earning Eagle Scout. I was also a three letter varsity athlete. I attended the University of Maine at Farmington and graduated in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree of special education with a ski industry minor. I coached snowboarding and skiing throughout college at Carrabassett Valley Academy bringing numerous athletes to national USASA competitions.

I spent a year teaching in Pahoa, Hawaii, on the Big Island. I learned how to surf and became familiar with the culture, but missed the mountains. This is what brings me here to Northern Utah. I absolutely love it here!

NDPA is the strongest school I have ever worked in. Every staff member is 100% dedicated to helping each student reach their fullest potential.
