I graduated from Weber State University with a Bachelors Degree in both Family Studies and Technical Sales. I decided I wanted to further my education and acquire a Teaching Certificate after spending several months long term substituting in the 5th grade. I loved it. Mrs. Gomberg encouraged me to pursue a teaching career, knowing that I had a natural ability to teach and a keen sense about the education system. I will have my teaching certificate in my hot little hands by the end of this year. Yah! My children have attended NDPA since the beginning and I have been highly involved in watching NDPA grow. During NDPA’s first year, I was a class captain and organized and purchased teaching tools for our P.E. and Art Curriculum and recommended an Emergency Preparedness Plan to The Board of Directors. |

I was elected the POET President our second year at NDPA and served as a member of The Board of Directors. It was in this 2nd year that we the POET established most of the programs, events, and procedures that your students enjoy today. While serving as a member of The Board of Directors, we clearly defined and began an implementation and accountability plan for our school vision and purpose. Our 3rd year at NDPA, I was Mrs. Smoot’s long term substitute from August to January. Last year, I served as a Class Captain and focused my time on completing my teaching degree. Currently I am teaching 6th grade Math and Language Arts and know that I am a good fit for 6th. The curriculum is engaging, challenging, and fast paced; three words that I would also use to describe myself. I feel I have come full circle since first walking through the doors at NDPA and know that my range of experience will benefit the students at NDPA. |

Personal info: I am married to the man of my dreams and together we have 3 amazing children. I like to read, garden, bike, swim, and play strategic games like Settlers of Catan. But honestly, my free time is spent carpooling and supporting my children in their endeavors. I am LDS and have lived in Syracuse for 6 years. |
