BARNES & NOBLE DAY CONTEST - Students, don't forget to enter the “I am Thankful for…” contest. Write a one-page paper or create a picture about what you are most thankful for and why. Turn it in at either school in the box at the POET desk. All entries are due by Tuesday, November 13. We can’t wait to see your work!
Due to limited space and time constraints at B&N, please follow these guidelines:
-Entries are due Tuesday, November 13 by end of school. Late entries will be not be accepted.
-Artwork can be no larger than 10×14 (no exceptions and can be any medium (paint, crayon, pencil, etc.).
-Essays can be up to one page in length (typed or handwritten) in Español or English.
-Entries should be created during the current school year (Aug 2018 to now).
-ON THE BACK (as they may be displayed publicly): First and last name, grade, and homeroom/advisory teacher.
-Turn entries in at either POET desk in the marked box beginning October 30th.
-Entries will be judged on originality, creativity, and following the guidelines.
-1st place winner per grade per category (K-9) will win a B&N gift card.
-Students may be asked to read their essay at B&N and all artwork will be displayed that day. Please attend that day to read or view your entry.
-Late entries or those that do not follow contest guidelines will be returned to the student.

VOLUNTEERS WANTED FOR BARNES & NOBLE DAY - Saturday, November 17. There are many things you can do to support this popular activity, including some work from home! You can sign up for as many shifts as you want, helping kids make crafts, wrapping gifts, passing out fliers, face painting, helping at the Lego, games, and robotics tables, manning the raffle table, and more. SAVE THE DATE: BARNES & NOBLE DAY will be here Saturday, November 17, 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. This is a fun event with activities for all ages. There will also be teacher WISH LISTS so you can purchase books for their classrooms. Barnes & Noble gives back a percentage of sales to NDPA, those funds are used to purchase books for the libraries, so be sure to invite friends and family!
SCIENCE FAIR 2019 - It’s time for NDPA's 14th Annual Science Fair! If you love building things, taking things apart, or finding answers to life’s mysteries, science fair might be for you! Registration forms are due by December 14th. All other information can be found in the registration packet. Happy Science-ing! *Science fair is mandatory for 9th grade but optional for all others.
