AFTER -SCHOOL STEM - Come join us after school for some STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) activities at the Elementary. Activities will include coding to move an Ozbot robot, inventing the best way to protect an egg for an egg drop, Lego fun and several other hands-on projects. Students in grades 4-6 will be able to engage in a virtual reality activity and create their own video game that they and others can play. Each week will be filled with activities that are interesting and relevant to students.

Sign up: ONE DAY ONLY at the POET desk in the elementary building, Wednesday morning, February 14th.
Classes limited to the first 25 students in each level who sign-up; 4 levels available: (1) K-1st, (2) 2nd-3rd, (3) 2nd-3rd, (4) 4th-6th. (This afterschool activity has been so popular we opened up an additional 2nd-3rd section for Spring to hopefully accommodate all interested students.)

-Who can come: Students in grades K-6
-Cost: $40 for 6 weeks, cash or check only, make checks payable to POET
-Dates: Thursdays; March 14, 21, 28, April 11, 18, 25. (Skip April 4 for Spring Break.)
-Time: 3:00-4:00 PM
-Place: NDPA Elementary Library

AFTER-SCHOOL POUND - After-School Generation POUND Classes for students in K-6. POUND classes allow students to move, rock, play, and make noise with plastic drumsticks. NDPA elementary students have had an opportunity to try this with their classes.

-Wednesdays 3:00-4:00 PM
-Dates: February 13, 20, 27 & March 13, 20, 27 (skip March 6 for PTC).

-Elementary Gym
-$20 for first student, $5 each for additional siblings.

JR. SPIRIT SQUAD CLINIC - Girls and boys in Kindergarten-8th grade are invited to join NDPA's Spirit Squad to learn some fun cheers and dances and perform at the Faculty vs Students Basketball game on Monday, March 4.

-Clinics will be held Thursday, February 28, 3:30-5:00 PM and Friday, March 1, 1:30-3:00 PM.
-Performance at 4:00 on Monday, March 4.
-Cost is $25 per person and includes a t-shirt. Family discount $20 per person for 2 or more participants.

-AT-HOME VOLUNTEERING - Looking to get volunteer hours from home? Join us on the Donations Committee! You will be responsible for contacting businesses to help secure donations for the FUNdraising Auction in April. Contact Sara at (801) 888-1964 for more information.
-PHOTOGRAPHER WANTED - We are in need of a photographer to complete one of our class projects. If we have any talented parents, or if a parent is willing to reach out to a personal contact, we’d greatly appreciate the volunteer. We will only need 1-2 hours of the photographer’s time, plus the work on their end to complete the photo. We’re hoping for a donation, partial or full. Please contact Jennifer Cox ( if you are interested in filling this volunteer position or have a friend or family member that will help us out.
-BOTTLECAPS WANTED - We need bottle caps- plastic bottle caps and a lot of them for Mrs. Ellsworth's kindergarten project. Please put in baggies and deliver to the office in either building.

IMPORTANT DAYS IN APRIL - Two important days in APRIL and POET has you covered! April 15 (Tax Day) and April 26 (Annual FUNdraising Auction)! POET will be hosting an on-line auction on the NDPA Facebook Page ( for two certificates for tax preparation each worth $100 off. The auction will be Tuesday February 05, 2019, opening at 8:00 AM and closing at 8:00 PM. Invite your friends to join the NDPA page, we want everyone to have the opportunity to bid.

Rules: Minimum bid $25. Bid increments in $10.00. Bids only accepted on the Facebook post feed. Certificate must be redeemed by April 15, 2019 at the Clearfield office. Top two bids will win the certificates. $100 off per person.

Bonus: 15% OFF in Tax Preparation Services to each NDPA family or person that shows the "Oficina de Joel Guerrero" post they saw on the NDPA Facebook page. Expiration Date April 15,2019. Not valid with other offers.
