R.O.A.R. SPIRIT WEEK, NEXT WEEK - Join us the week of September 16th through September 20th and show your school pride! It’s LION R.O.A.R week at NDPA! What is R.O.A.R? - R: responsibility - O: ownership - A: achievement - R: respect - By learning more about each of these we will be able to have pride in ourselves and in our school to make each day the best it can be!

  • MONDAY THROUGH THURSDAY YOU MAY WEAR JEANS AND A UNIFORM OR SPIRIT SHIRT and join us outside during your lunch for a fun activity!
  • FRIDAY WILL BE A FREE-FREE DRESS DAY! We will also have an activity outside during lunch on Friday.

-Kinder-4th Parents- We will be looking for volunteers to help us with the lunchtime activities in the elementary building. NDPA FUN RUN, MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 16 - Heroes Throughout History

- 5:00 pm - Registration/shirt pick-up opens
- 5:20 pm - All junior high driveways will be closed (Barriers will not be removed until 6:00pm, plan accordingly)
- 5:30 pm - Registration ends
- Announcements (Thanks and recognition, spotlight athletic teams, and provide rules for the run)
- National Anthem
- Start 5K race
- After the start clears from 5K participants, 1 miler will start.

-The run will have a new starting point again this year: The start of the course will be behind the junior high building. All entrances to the junior high building will be closed at 5:20 pm. Cars will NOT be allowed to come in or leave this area until 6:00 pm, please plan accordingly. Participants may park along Hill Field Road, at Ellison Park and at the NDPA Elementary building (this parking lot will have restricted access during the race). Please use caution when crossing all roads, Layton City and Davis County have given us permission to use the trails and sidewalks, however, streets will not be closed for this event. As we travel through the residential areas, please watch for cars going in or coming out of driveways. Strollers will be allowed on this course, please be courteous and watch out for all participants.

-There will be a NO PARKING ZONE on the east part of the junior high parking lot, we apologize for the inconvenience, nonetheless, we are using this as a safety measure and we hope it will allow all to enjoy this event.

-There will be music & Marquesas Corn dogs food truck. Plus, our sponsors have donated awesome prizes for our raffle.

We are excited to have all participate in the fun run as this is the first day of our ROAR Spirit Week!

K-4 After-School Art
SIGN-UP - ONE DAY ONLY - Wednesday, September 18, 8:15 AM-9:00 AM. This Art class is very popular, so please plan ahead. If you personally can't be there at 8:15 AM send $ with your carpool or arrange for a friend to sign you up.

This is for 1st-4th graders (5th and 6th Graders have been invited to join Doodle Club, Thursdays 3-4 PM in Ms. Roundy’s classroom.)
Classes will be 6 sessions: Wednesday October 2, 9 (skip October 16 for PTC), October 23, 30, and November 6 & 13.

5th-9th DOODLE CLUB - every Thursday from 3:10-4:00 PM in room 133.

> K-6 STEM - We’re back! Come join us after school for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) activities in the Elementary. Mrs. Gibson found a lot of new & exciting activities at a conference this summer! They will vary by grade level but will include, Hexbugs with 3D Doodlers & Owl Pellets (4-6), Gliders & Botany (2-3), Earthquake Proof Buildings & Geo Domes (K-1), Rockets (all grades) and more! Each week will be filled with activities that are active, interesting and relevant to students.

SCIENCE OLYMPIAD TRYOUTS - Do you love being part of a team? Love learning new things? Love Math and Science? If you said yes to all of these then Science Olympiad is for you!!!

Team members will be announced on Friday, October 4th. First practice will be Friday, October 11th from 1:15 – 3:00 and every Friday there after. Good luck and hope to see you soon!

SCIENCE OLYMPIAD COACHES WANTED - Our Science Olympiad team needs coaches! Do you or anybody you know want to be a part of this amazing group of kids? We are in need of people to coach individual events for the upcoming season. You do not need to have a Math or Science background to be a coach. You just need to have a natural curiosity and willingness to learn. If you, or anybody you know are interested, please email me your thoughts or questions, and plan on attending the coaches clinic on Friday, September 20th from 2:00 – 3:00 in room 210. POET is looking for someone who is interested in being the Treasurer Assistant for this year to take over the position for next year. Interested parties can contact Stephanie Norton, or Kammie Watt,

POET is in need of an After School Choir Director for Mondays. It would be from 3:05-4:00 PM and would start September 30 and go 8 weeks (excluding PTC) with a performance the 9th week (December 2nd). If you are interested please email Amy Starks at or call (801)529-5012.

The FUNdraising Auction needs your artistic and/or fundraising talents. If you would be interested in helping a class create a project to sell at the auction, or contacting businesses for donations, please contact Kati Wyman, These are some great ways to get volunteer hours at home!
