SCIENCE OLYMPIAD TRYOUTS - Do you love being part of a team? Love learning new things? Love Math and Science? If you said yes to all of these then Science Olympiad is for you!!!

Tryouts Information:
Date: Friday, September 27, 2019
Time: 1:15 p.m. – 3:15 p.m.
Applications for tryouts are available in Ms. Adams Room 210
Must have application completed before tryouts
Team members will be announced on Friday, October 4th. First practice will be Friday, October 11th from 1:15 – 3:00 and every Friday there after. Good luck and hope to see you soon!

7TH & 8TH TO STEM FEST - Utah STEM Fest is back! And we are taking our 7th and 8th grades! It’s a fun filled day with all sorts of activities in STEM related fields. We will be riding Frontrunner and Trax to the Southtowne Expo Center and returning in the afternoon. Permission slips were sent home last week. It’s gonna be a blast!

WHERE: Layton Frontrunner Station
-8th Grade - Monday, October 7th
-7th Grade - Tuesday, October 8th
TIME: Drop-off 7:45; Pick-up 3:00
ATTIRE: Regular Uniform
LUNCH: Home or Sack Lunch from School (Will be on the permission form that comes home)

NDPA FALL FESTIVAL AT BLACK ISLAND FARMS - Thursday, October 10, 5:30 to 10:00 PM, 2075 S. 4000 W., Syracuse. Bring bug spray! NDPA dancers will perform at 6:00 PM and concessions will be available.

  • $5 - maze & courtyard
  • $8 - maze, courtyard, & hayride
  • Be sure to mention NDPA when buying tickets

PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCE - Monday, October 14, parents and students are invited to join us for the NDPA Student Led Parent Teacher Conference Open House. The open house will begin at 1:30, with a teacher dinner break from 4:30-5:30, and end at 7:00.

  • Students in 1st-6th grades will take parents to show what they've been learning.
  • Students in grades 7-9 will head to the Jr. High gym with their parents to talk with teachers.
  • All grades, if you have concerns that you feel require some one-on-one time with the teacher, please contact the teacher directly to make an appointment for one of the other conference dates.

FLU SHOT CLINIC - Monday, October 14 only, 2:30-7:30 PM, Davis County Health will have a Flu Shot Clinic available at the elementary.

DAVIS COUNTY LIBRARIES - The Davis County Library will be attending PTC on Monday only! To help you register for a library card for yourself and anyone for whom you are the parent/legal guardian.

Library policy requires two separate forms of identification:
1. A photo identification, such as a driver’s license, state issued or military identification card,warehouse membership card, etc.
2. Proof of Davis County residency. Proof of residency may include checkbook, current utility bills, letters which have been delivered within the past sixty (60) days through the US Postal Service, or property tax notices.

If both forms are not available, you may be required to present needed documentation at your preferred branch prior to your card(s) being activated.

LOGGING VOLUNTEER HOURS - Parents, in order to log your volunteer hours, you will need to fill out the volunteer application here:

Once your application is approved, you will be able to log your hours manually at the Raptor portal Your hours are also logged automatically when you sign in as a volunteer at the school. Please note that your first time volunteering, we will need to scan your ID.

LOST & FOUND - Be sure to check the lost & found in both buildings by Thursday, October 10 - they will be picked up on Friday, October 11. Now that we're into Fall, students take off their jackets when the weather warms up. To help avoid loss, please be sure to label all items with your student's name.

NDPA STUDENT IN THE NEWS: HALLEIGH T. - Congratulations to Halleigh, who has been announced as a "Rising Star" with the International Dark-Sky Association. Halleigh's project publicized the dangers of light pollution, and suggested personal and community solutions for reduction. Read more about it here:
