VISION SCREENINGS -Tuesday, November 30, Friends for Sight will be performing vision screenings at NDPA for 1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th, and 9th grades. Because we are committed to the safety, we will incorporate CDC-recommended guidelines during the screening process.

If your student is ill, please do not send them to school just for the screening. Screenings can be scheduled with our office on another date and time if you have concern for your student. Also, please be sure that if your child wears glasses they bring them to school so we can perform a proper screening.

If your child cannot see at the appropriate distance for their age, a referral form will be sent home with them. This sheet will give you more detail, and is a good indication that scheduling a full eye exam for your child should be a priority. Please remember that a vision screening is not a substitute for a complete eye exam and vision evaluation by an eye doctor. Since no child should be denied proper eye care because of finances, Friends for Sight has several partnerships that provide free eye exams and glasses for those who qualify for financial assistance. If you would like to opt your student out of vision screenings, fill out the following form and return it to the office, we also have printed forms available in both offices:

VISION SCREENING VOLUNTEERS NEEDED, Tuesday, November 30, at 8:25 A.M., to help with vision screenings. Please, no small children. Meet in the Elementary library, we should be done around 1:00 P.M. Sign up on Help Counter; see the bottom of the newsletter to sign up to be an NDPA volunteer.

HOST FAMILIES NEEDED - Educatius Group is looking for families in the Davis or southern Weber counties to host students going to Layton Christian Academy during the 2nd semester of the school year (January 3–May 18). We are in serious need to place at least one dozen students from around the world including boys and girls currently living in Germany, Brazil, Italy, Vietnam, and France.

All that is required is a room (can share) with a bed, dresser, and study area. You would also be responsible for getting your high school student to/from school, make sure they are fed 3 meals a day and simply treat them with the same love you do your own family members. Students provide their own spending money, health insurance, and most extras requiring additional expense. A reasonable monthly stipend is also provided to the host family for their hosting efforts. Please call Monte Poll at 801-698-8115 or email to ask any questions or get an application started.
