FIELD DAY INFO
Field day is fast approaching and we can’t wait for the students to celebrate the year! Here are the details for this upcoming event:

Where:
Classic Fun Center, Layton

When:
Wednesday, May 18th: K - 3rd grade
Thursday, May 19th: 4th - 6th grade
Friday, May 20th: 7th - 9th grade

Times:
9 AM to 2:30 PM (1-3) (4-6)
9 AM to 12:30 PM (7-9)

Kinder is the exception on the 18th.
Their schedule is:
Kinder (AM): 9:00 - 11:30 AM
Kinder (PM): 11:30 - 2:00 PM

This is a walking field trip. The students dress code is a spirit shirt with shorts (jean or uniform) with tennis shoes. The students will have volunteers to escort and monitor them there and back. They will be using the walking trail for safety.

Kindergarten will be dropped off and picked up from Classic Fun Center. All other grades will be walking.

All students will have either school or home lunch at Classic at their allotted times and we will return to the school for 3 PM pickup. The event includes skating (skates included), bounce houses, and jungle gym for all. It does not include the arcade, gravity ride, or laser tag. Jr high May bring personal scooters or rollerblades or rent for $3. Elementary will not be bringing personal items for field day but can rent for $3.

Each class needs volunteers to help with the students so please check with your class captain to see volunteer availability. Thanks for everyone’s help to make this a great and fun event for the students. If you have any questions please email Allie Longoria at amlongoria87@gmail.com.

IMMERSION LOTTERY OPEN THROUGH MAY 15TH
2022-2023 IMMERSION LOTTERY
Current exposure students, in grades K-5 are invited to apply for the Immersion lottery for the 2022-23 school year. Note: If your student is already in immersion, you do not need to fill out this application; they will remain in the immersion program next year.

2022-23 Immersion lottery application: https://northdavisprep.sjc1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_4MU6FXPfqPzAqou

You may apply anytime between today and Saturday, May 15. Please fill out all fields correctly to ensure there are no problems when we draw names.

Once the lottery closes, students will be randomly selected according to the number of Immersion spots we have available in each grade. You will be notified via email by the end of the school year if your student's name is drawn.

As we get closer to the new school year, we often find out we have additional openings. We will continue to draw from the Immersion wait list as openings occur and will notify you by email if your child's name is drawn.

SPRING DANCE CHAPERONES NEEDED
Chaperones Needed! We're in need of some adult presence at our spring dance for the junior high next Friday, May 20, from 7-9 PM (and about an hour after if you have the time to help us tear down). If you're in need of some volunteer hours, it's honestly a great way to pick a few up-- with all our lovey junior high kids dressed up and celebrating the nearing of the end of the year. If interested, shoot me a note at kgrover@northdavisprep.org. Thanks!

NDPA OFFICES CLOSED MAY 20TH AT 1:30PM
NDPA offices will be closing at 1:30pm on May 20th. If you need something, please email gsmith@northdavisprep.org (for the Jr. High building) or chamblin@northdavisprep.org (for the elementary building) if you need assistance that day.

LOST AND FOUND PICK UP DATES
Lost and found pick up:
Items with names will be returned May 20th so we can return items to students before the end of school. June 3rd is the Final lost and found pick up. Everything left behind will be donated.

APPLY FOR POET VP!
Would you like to have a positive impact at NDPA? Consider being Vice President for our 2022-2023 POET Board. The duties of VP are: "The Vice President shall be a member of the POET board, and in the absence of the President, shall perform the duties of the President. The Vice President shall be an aide to the President and perform such duties as are assigned by the President or the POET Board. After serving one (1) term as Vice President, the Vice President shall automatically assume the office of the President the following year." In regards to "duties as assigned," currently the VP has been overseeing the Book Fairs, LEO nights, Barnes & Noble Day, the elementary marquee, and participating in the POET/Admin meetings. It is also beneficial for the VP to attend the POET sponsored events (Fall Fiesta/Fun Run, FUNdraising Fiesta Auction, Field Day, etc.)

From Jennie Burbidge, current POET President: "I have loved working with POET and I can confidently say that the person who is VP will have a great opportunity working with the President and Board this upcoming year. It has been a great way to get involved in the school and know how we can make positive changes and contributions for our teachers and kids! POET truly is a great force for good at NDPA and it has been a pleasure to work with the dedicated individuals of the POET Board! Please let me know if you are interested by replying to jennieburb.ndpa@gmail.com "

POET BOARD APPLICATIONS – We need YOU to be “PART OF EVERYTHING” (POET)!!! POET is now recruiting for the 2022-2023 Board. POET’s purpose is to be the “organizers, fundraisers, facilitators, volunteers, and enthusiastic cheering section at the programs and events that make NDPA unique and strong.”

Available positions vary from 20 hours a month to 5 hours a month; hours vary depending on the position and month of the year. Please submit your application to the POET box by March 31st, 2022 at 9:00 AM.
