NO SCHOOL THURSDAY AND FRIDAY
Just a quick reminder that On Thursday October 13th and Friday October 14th there is NO SCHOOL for students. We will see you back on Monday October 17th.
CONGRATS SCHOOL SPORTS TEAMS
These girls played the best game of their lives and beat the only undefeated team in the league! Congratulations! They won 2nd place!
Boys Soccer won their Championship game as well! 1st place! Congrats!!
Cross Country Team went to state and won! Cross Country Boys Won 5th and Cross Country Girls Won 4th. Congratulations!
COOLER WEATHER AND OPEN-TOE SHOES
Open-toe shoes are not allowed for students to wear, even on Dollar Dress Days. Students often slip on the floors or fall out on the playground. Please make sure your child is wearing closed-toe shoes. Thanks!
PLEASE put your child’s last name on their hoodie, sweatshirt, jacket, etc. in order to get that item back to your family. Also, if the hoodie, jacket, sweater, etc. is NOT school uniform colors (red, navy blue, or white), they will be asked to remove it in the classroom setting.
FALL ACTIVITIES
Join one of our after school activities:
Art registration is OPEN and we only have a few spots left. If you want to sign up today is the day! If you have already signed up for art please be sure to pay to keep your spot. We will need payments for art to start buying supplies. You can pay using the POET Venmo or with cash or check in the POET Dropbox in the k-4 building front office.
Art $25 for 4 weeks, registration opened on 10/4 at 8am with class starting 10/25 1st-4th invited to register, class will be limited to first 40 students registered:

Active Leo registration is open! We will have all sorts of challenges and body strength activities. Come and show off your strength and endurance with this fun active camp!

FALL FESTIVAL AT BLACK ISLAND FARMS
Where: Black Island Farms 2075 S 4000 W, Syracuse
When: Thursday, October 20th
Time: 4pm - 9pm
Price: $6 for courtyard & corn maze
The cheer squad will be performing at 5:30pm
* There are concessions available and pumpkins for sale in the market
* Hayrides are running until 8pm
* Bring bug spray and dress for the weather
MATH TUTORING
Math tutoring available for all Jr. High students. This will be from 3:15pm to 4:00pm on Mondays through Thursdays. As with last year, Mondays will be for 7th grade, Tuesday for 8th, Wednesday for 9th, and Thursday for everyone 7-9. This program will be run by Mr. Cameron Pingree and we will work on any classwork the students need extra help with as well as studying for tests and working to build their knowledge of math in a smaller setting.
GAMES CLUB REQUEST
Our new times for Game club will be Fridays from 1:30pm until 3:30pm. Our school’s gaming club is for 7th through 9th grades and has seen a lot of interest this year and we are looking for donations for games and additions to our current games to help expand the kid’s gaming choices. If your family has extra board games, cards for the games, Magic the Gathering, Pokemon, Yugioh, etc., or miniatures, dice, and books for Dungeons and Dragons, we will gladly accept the donation to help our kids have the best experience they can! If you are able to donate please send your student with the items to donate to either Mr. Cameron, Mr. Gypp, or Mr. McLean. Thank you all so much!!
