PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCE SCHEDULER – Parent Teacher Conferences will be held Monday, October 16-Wednesday, October 18. Parents of 7th-9th graders are invited to schedule appointments online to meet with your student’s advisory teacher.

K-6th Parents are invited to join their students in attending a “student-led” open house on Monday, October 16, between 1:30-7:00 PM. If you feel you need to have a private conference, please email your teacher for an appointment.

LOST & FOUND – Be sure to check the lost & found for missing jackets, lunch boxes, water bottles, etc. The lost & found will be taken for donation on Thursday, October 5.

SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR – Mark your calendars, the Scholastic Fall Book fair is coming up.

  • Elementary Recess Attendant
    Closing date: Open until filled
    Approximately 25 hours a week
    Minimum qualifications: clear a background check, high school diploma, previous experience working with school-aged children a plus.

  • Substitute Teachers
    Closing Date: Open until filled
    Substitute Teachers are put on a call list and must be available to work with short notice.
    Substitute Teachers are paid an hourly rate, based on education level.
    Minimum qualifications: clear a background check, high school diploma, previous experience working with school-aged children a plus.

K-6 AFTER-SCHOOL CHOIR – Sign-up for AFTER-SCHOOL K-6 CHOIR! Choir will be held Tuesday from 3-4 p.m. in the Elementary Gym. Cost $15.

  • Practice Dates: October 3, 10, 24, 31 (skip Oct. 17 for PTC). November 7, 14, 21 & 28.
  • Performance Dates: Barnes and Noble-November 18 and December 4 @ 6:30 PM for friends and family.

The students will learn fun Polar Express songs like “Hot Chocolate,” “When Christmas Comes to Town,” and Rockin’ On Top of the World.” Other favorites: “Little Drummer Boy,” “Santa Clause is Coming to Town” and “Silent Night.”

Students can also perform solos and in small groups. We love to have 5th and 6th grade students showcase their talents by performing songs they help select.

VOLUNTEER! You may have noticed that we are not using signup.com this year. POET will be using the new RAPTOR system that the school will have for Checking In/Out. Until that is available, we are collecting volunteers the old fashioned way! Look for the volunteer form at the POET desk. There are lots of opportunities to volunteer, so watch Facebook for announcements.

  • ART AUCTION CHAIR NEEDED – POET is seeking to fill a board member position as chair of the Art Auction. The primary responsibilities: coordinate the public relations and marketing of the art auction, support the committee heads for the donations, art projects, show your love for art and decorating groups and serve as an active member of the POET board. Estimated time commitment is 20 hours a month during the months of February-April. Estimated time commitment from October-January is 5 hours a month.   • SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR is headed your way… Volunteers needed! The Scholastic Book Fair will need help October 16 through 18. Volunteers are needed to help setup and run the Book Fair. If you would like to volunteer, contact Jennifer Nicholson at jnicholson@northdavisprep.org for specific times. The Book Fair helps buy and earn books for both of our NDPA libraries. This is a great, fun way to get your volunteer hours in. Contact Jennifer today!
  • SCIENCE OLYMPIAD COACHES WANTED! Do you want some fun volunteer hours? Like doing things in math or science? Please let Ms. Adams know ASAP if you’d be interested in coaching, radams@northdavisprep.org. Coaching with your students can be at your own convenience, but should be about an hour a week. Your child does not need to be on the team for you to be a coach. All coaches receive a $50 stipend for each event they coach. Coaching time can be logged as volunteer hours. This is a year long commitment.

RED CROSS HURRICANE DONATIONS – The representatives from the American Red Cross were so impressed with the money NDPA students raised IN JUST ONE WEEK for hurricane victims! NDPA student government was able to present a donation of $2,523.81. Extra thanks to NDPA’s own National Junior Honors Society (NJHS) who donated $200!
