SCIP CORNER

How YOU Helped Create Our SCIP

Our School Continuous Improvement Plan, (a.k.a. S.C.I.P.), was created after our last accreditation review. To gain the status of an “accredited” school, we must complete an internal and external review every 5 years (our last accreditation was in 2022). During the accreditation review, we sent surveys and to all families, students, POET, Board of Directors, and employees. We also conducted interviews in house and through an external company. The company we hired went through our documented history, everything from test scores to lunch menus, after which, they rated our school in several key areas (Leadership, Learning, and Resources). Formal recommendations and an overall “score” were then submitted to our principal and administrative team We scored above average in every category, most especially in our school culture and climate assessment. Our score is directly correlated to your input, and we thank you for your feedback and continued support of our school. Over the next few months, we’ll highlight the scores and recommendations from each category and then we’ll break down each goal from the SCIP* and share our plan for reaching those improvements.

Next Month: Leadership High Score and Recommendations
