BARNES AND NOBLE DAY

VISION SCREENING

Vision Screening will be this upcoming Thursday, November 16. If you wish for your child to NOT have a screening, please go into either the elementary or jr high office to fill out the form. Please be sure that if your child wears glasses, your child brings them to school on the day of the screening so we can perform a proper screening!

AFTERNOON KINDERGARTEN DROP OFF

Afternoon Kindergarten Parents,

Safety and efficiency are of the upmost importance for us. We would ask that if you wish to walk your child into the gate, that you park your car either on the street or in a designated parking spot. We have had issues with cars being parked in the drop off line, which has made it both difficult to ensure that students get safely into the gate and efficient for those parents & daycares who need to do quick drop offs.

Thank you for your continued support in making our school a better place for everyone!

La seguridad y la eficiencia son de suma importancia para nosotros. Le pediríamos que, si desea llevar a su hijo a la puerta, estacione su coche en la calle o en un lugar de estacionamiento designado. Learning High Scores and a Few Recommendations

Under our “Learning Capacity” domain we scored as high as we could in the following areas: Learners have equitable opportunities to develop skills and achieve the content; Instruction is monitored and adjusted to meet individual learners’ needs; NDPA implements processes to identify and address the specialized needs of learners. An area of improvement that we were already working toward and which Cognia (company that audits us) agreed we should move in this direction was a “formalized” process to ensure that curriculum is aligned to standards and best practices. Any students in K-6 grades will know that we have adopted a new math curriculum, which is directly in-line with achieving this goal. We have a specific 5 year goal to ensure we grow and excel in this area.

“NDPA will implement a cohesive curriculum selection and review process for all academic areas including a rubric to measure alignment to standards and best practices”.

In February’s SCIP Corner, we’ll share will you our formalized curriculum selection and review processes.

GAMES CLUB

Games Club will run until May 17th. It will be every Friday when school is in session, except on the Fridays that have a school dance scheduled the same day.

Games Club is for 6th-9th graders only and will run from 1:20 pm - 3:30 pm. Please plan to be here by 3:30 pm to pick up your student(s).

A club fee of $10 will need to be turned in to the Jr. High front office before the student’s first session or on September 1st. Any session after that they will be informed that they still owe the club fee and will need to bring that to the office before they will be allowed to attend.

MATH TUTORING

Math tutoring is Mondays through Thursdays from 3:15-4:00pm.

Monday – 7th Graders, Tuesday – 8th Graders, Wednesday – 9th Graders, Thursday – 7th,8th, and 9th Graders
