POET UNIFORM SALE – How did that shirt get too small? Where did that hole come from? What happened to your hoodie?! If you find yourself asking these questions then we have good news!

There will be a POET Uniform Sale on Monday, Jan 16, from 4:00-7:00 PM and Tuesday, Jan 17, from 10:00 AM- noon! Gently used uniforms (all items only $3) and used NDPA Hoodies ($5) will be available. We will be accepting uniform donations (clean and hole free), but at this sale we will only be selling POET owned clothes. Contact Kira, 801-368-7199, with any questions.

SCIENCE FAIR: JUDGES NEEDED – Judges needed for NDPA’s Annual Science Fair on January 25! Judges will be treated to a continental breakfast while being trained on how to score projects at 8:15 AM. Judging will be from 9:00–11:00 AM (or until are projects are judged). If you are interested, please contact Mrs. Adams at for more details or to sign up. NDPA 2017-18 RECOMMITMENT – PARENTS: An email was sent to you on January 1 asking you to recommit for the 2016-17 school year. The deadline to declare your intent is January 31. Your recommitment helps us determine the number of openings we will have available for those who are trying to get into NDPA. POLAR PLUNGE 2017 – Have you heard the COOL news? Well here it is: The NDPA Polar Plunge is here again AND you can still register to PLUNGE!! On-site registration will be from 9:30 to approximately 10:15 the day of the Plunge at Fort Buenaventura. Shirts are NOT guaranteed, but you can still brag about jumping into some very chilly water. The Plunge is January 21st, 2017, at Fort Buenaventura in Ogden, Utah. Check-in begins at 9:30 AM; we’ll be plunging shortly after. The Polar Plunge is a school-sponsored fundraising event for any student, in any grade, interested in going to Spain in their 9th grade year. K-6th YEARBOOK COVER CONTEST – Calling ALL K-6th ARTISTS!!! Yearbook Cover wants YOU!
This year, for K-6th grade yearbooks, we are changing things up…We are looking for black & white pictures on plain, white paper (no lines, please), of any size, with anything related to NDPA that you would like to see on the school’s yearbook cover.

  • All submission should include: Your Name, grade, and teacher.
  • ALL drawings need to be turned in to the box on the POET desk by January 27.

ART AUCTION DONATIONS NEEDED – Donations Needed from YOU for our Annual Art Auction!

FIRST: Never been to NDPA’s Annual Art Auction or are you new to our school? Check out this short, informative video!

SECOND: We need YOUR help! The Art Auction relies on donations to raise money for our school. Do you own a business, work for a company that gives generously, or just want to give? We appreciate and accept it ALL!

Here are just a few ideas:

THIRD: Decoration donations wanted- We are looking for some items to take our Art Auction to the sea! Below is a list of items we are in search of. Please put donations in the designated box at the Elementary POET desk.

  • Cylinder glass vases – larger sizes
  • Ivory candles – floating & big enough to fill cylinder vase
  • Twine/jute
  • Tin cans #10
  • Spray paint – silver, gold, blue, teal, coral

  • Starfish – natural colors
  • Shells – natural colors
  • Glass fish bowls – varying sizes

  • BAGPIPES has changed to 45 minutes. Class times will now be Wednesdays from 4:30-5:15 PM.


FLAG SETUP – Help setup flags outside both schools on Thursday, February 2. This would require volunteers to be at the school @ 5:30 AM to get the flags setup before school starts. We also need volunteers to help take them down after school about 4:00 PM. This is a great way to get your volunteer hours in! If you can help, please sign up at this link:
