NOTE: Students should plan to wear a red uniform or NDPA spirit shirt during school on Monday, September 19. Pirate dress may be worn for the Fun Run that evening.

NDPA FUN RUN – Arrr, Mateys! The North Davis Preparatory Academy 6th Annual Lion Pride Fun Run is THIS MONDAY, September 19th, 2016 at the NDPA Junior High school parking lot. Check-in is from 5:30-6:00 PM. There will be a 5K and a 1-mile course (see course maps below).

Avast! September 19th is Talk Like a Pirate Day, so we’re going to DRESS like a PIRATE for the Fun Run! Don’t be afeard! Get yer sealegs ready or you’ll be walking the plank! Wear your favorite pirate running clothes to the Fun Run.

Are you interested in NDPA School Items? You can purchase school store items at the NDPA Fun Run on Monday, September 19th. The store will be open before and during the race. Box tops will not be allowed as payment for purchases. The items available are:

  • NDPA Backpack $10,
  • NDPA Water bottles $8 (these are dishwasher safe),
  • NDPA Lanyards $5,
  • NDPA Pencil $.50,
  • NDPA Decal $5.

Items can be purchased with cash, check or credit card.

A NOTE FROM THE LIBRARY: LIBRARY OVERDUE NOTICES Overdue notices for library materials will be emailed to parents this year. If your student is in the K-4 building, they may return during their library time or books may be put in the large yellow box outside the library. The box will be emptied each day. Students may renew books with Mrs. Zost during their library time. If a library item is on hold for another student, it will not be able to be renewed. Students in the 5-9 building may return/renew books during their library time or after school. Please help your children return their items on time. Thank you!

AFTER-SCHOOL ACTIVITIES CODE OF CONDUCT: Registration for After-School Activities is voluntary and implies agreement that your student(s) will abide by the NDPA core values.

With emphasis on:

  • All interactions with teachers/volunteers, students and parents are based on honesty, trust and respect.
  • All students will demonstrate personal and social responsibility.

Additionally, it is agreed that all students will be picked up promptly at 4:00 PM.

  • K-6 ART – Please note, K-6 Art is full. Classes will begin at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, October 5.

    Runs every other Saturday: September 24th, October 8th & 22nd
    2:00-4:00 PM
    $20 (includes a ball and t-shirt).
    Sign up and sign waiver at the Jr. High POET desk. Make checks to POET and put in the POET box. Participants must have a waiver signed by a parent/guardian.
    Tuesday, October 4, 11, (skip 18 PT conf), 25, and November 1,8,15,22, 29.-
    Class is from 3:00-4:00 PM in the elementary gym.
    $15-Sign-up at POET desk, make checks payable to POET.
    Performances: November 19 at Barnes and Noble Day and December 5 (tentative).
  • YOUTH BAGPIPE BAND – 4th grade to age 17 welcome
    Wednesdays, 4:30-5:30 PM, elementary library
    Initial investment $65 for bagpipe chanter.
    No sign up necessary, just come!

ELEMENTARY LIBRARY – Mrs. Zost is looking for volunteers to assist in the K-4 library on a regular basis. Volunteers will assist students, shelve books, straighten books etc. Please contact Mrs. Zost at if you are interested and to see what days and times are available. Thank you!

AT-HOME VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR THE ART AUCTION DONATIONS COMMITTEE – We are need volunteers for the donations committee. This is a really easy way to get those volunteer hours! Much of the work be done from home via phone or email. We even have an easy script to follow and businesses are happy to donate. We want to have a good turnout of items for our silent auction to help earn money for our school. Please contact Isabel Patterson at or voice/text: 801-380-7659 by text or email for more information. ADULT MERENGUE DANCE CLASSES – Do you remember those awesome flamenco dancers we had at the Art Auction last year? One of those dancers was our very own Mr. Garcia! If you didn’t get a chance to see him dance, you missed out! Now you have an opportunity to be like Mr. Garcia by learning some of his awesome MERENGUE moves!

This is a beginners class, it’s okay of you have never danced before! Classes will be held on Tuesdays from 7:00-8:00 PM starting September 20, through December 13, in the Jr. High gym. Maximum number of students is 30 so sign up soon to reserve your spot!

  • Lesson pricing:
    – 1 individual lesson $20
    – 10 individual lessons $150
    – 10 couple lessons $250

To sign up: email Mr. Garcia or bring payment to either office. Checks should be written to NDPA, credit cards accepted at the Jr. High office only. If you would only like to take an individual lesson, no sign up necessary, just come and pay Mr. Garcia before class starts. We need a minimum of 6 couples to participate or we will have to cancel the course.
