Why I Teach at NDPA
Along with a love of literature, I also deeply enjoy working with middle-grade students. Every day is a new adventure, and I look forward to the challenge of continually finding new ways to turn students on to literature and writing, two areas toward which students often have an aversion. Nothing reminds me why I love teaching like having a student say, "It's weird, I'm really liking this book".

Interests and Hobbies
I love living in downtown Salt Lake, watching Kellen Moore play for the Detroit Lions, playing a little piano, visiting my favorite condor at the aviary, and, of course, writing and reading.
