June 2025

Monte Poll is a husband and father who dedicates his extra time and energy to the betterment of all around him. He has more than 20 years management experience from his professional career in software development at Sabioso and Zions Bank. Monte’s extensive leadership and management responsibilities overseeing many employees and numerous large-scale projects have provided him with the leadership ability to see the larger picture and drive organizations toward excellence. Monte understands the importance of systems, roles, and responsibilities in the larger picture as he expertly navigates his governance role on North Davis Preparatory Academy’s Board of Directors. He continually considers the best approach for stable and sustained improvement.

Monte shows a deep commitment to the charter school movement. He has demonstrated this commitment by serving for thirteen years in almost every role and committee on the Board of Directors for North Davis Preparatory Academy. Monte has repeatedly demonstrated leadership skills during his service. For example, he headed the committee for the expansion of the school adding junior high grades and doubling the school size from 500 to 1000 students. His leadership role included obtaining financing, building design, construction, strategic hiring of employees and implementation of the school’s mission and vision.

His extensive institutional knowledge and understanding of the board’s fiduciary responsibility have allowed NDPA to flourish and gain ground on attaining the school vision. This same knowledge was used as he led the charge to refinance the school buildings for nearly $16 million and continues to play an integral role in assuring bond covenants and the school remains financially stable. The result of this refinance move has allowed the school to have more money in its coffers that can directly affect the students. Monte embraces the school’s vision in providing high academic experience, biliterate proficiency and a love of learning for the students. His vision for the school has also been integral in the development of NDPA’s culminating ninth grade trip to Spain for its students. With the refinance and other judicious moves Monte helped establish scholarships and funding to maximize the opportunity for every willing student.
